Meet the Owner, Daniel Later, CPA
Daniel A. Later is the founder of Later CPA & Associates, PLLC, where he assists business owners to understand their tax goals and strategies, and simplify the standard operating procedures needed to turn goals into reality.
Daniel discovered his calling to be an accountant while he was a directionless college kid, taking random classes to find out what he enjoyed doing. When he took his first accounting course, he discovered the balancing of financial statements, the line-by-line flowing of journal entries, and he knew he found an occupation that made sense to him.
Over the course of Daniel’s career, he has diligently studied to graduate with a Master of Taxation from Weber State University, pass the CPA exam, and be fully licensed in the state of Utah.
He didn’t stop there but continued his practical education by practicing his skills in bookkeeping, payroll, tax strategy, and tax planning. Through guidance from expects, he became familiar with how to use the tax laws to legally and ethically help businesses save on taxes in the long term.
Soon after starting, Daniel was advised to specialize into niches, where he could give the most value by focusing on one type of business owner and the problems common to their industry.
After consulting his wife, a licensed clinical social worker, he decided he could best serve the mental health professional community, and group that has dedicated their lives to helping others improve.
His mission is to give business owners the opportunity to grow their business while focusing on the reasons they started. Many business owners lose their passion when the realities of running a business start to overwhelm them. Daniel wants to assist those business owners by giving them a clear picture of the performance of their business, help them create procedures to ensure necessary tasks are done correctly and on time, and give them his expertise to reduce their tax burden while improving their long-term outlook.
Daniel enjoys his down time listening to sci-fi audio books while doing yard work and going on long car drives with his family.
